The secret is out! The eyes of the state, country, and world are focused on Donaldsonville, Louisiana which has been selected as the site for the largest cargo airport in the country. This multi-modal transportation facility will be designed to meet the global transportation and distribution requirements of our new economy. Additionally, we have experienced a record number of new business openings over the past year. Our historic district, with its wonderful homes, has become a destination for Baton Rouge and New Orleans residents looking for a great community in which to live.
The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce would like to invite you to become a part of this exciting time in our city, parish, and state. Over the past several years, the Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce has grown to become a strong and dynamic organization. We invite you to become a member of our growing team. The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce will work hard to expose your business to tens of thousands of potential customers.
The mission of the Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce is to provide leadership for growth and support of commerce, trade, and community goodwill in Ascension Parish and its surrounding areas. The Chamber works toward this goal by creating an active forum for communication between the interests of business, industry, local and parish government, civic and religious leaders, and concerned members of the community.
Our goals for 2003-2004 are clear and defined. Enclosed is an outline of our goals for the upcoming year. I am sure that you will find them to be worthwhile and well within reach of an active organization such as ours. I have also enclosed a list of membership benefits for your review. We are committed to the continued revitalization of Donaldsonville and to the retention and expansion of existing businesses. The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce:
Networking – The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce presents many opportunities for members to network. The Chamber sponsors events such as breakfasts, business after-hours, business card exchanges, banquets, festivals and monthly meetings. These activities enable you to enlarge your customer and contact base. Members are also provided with a complete membership listing which can be provided to you in the format of your choice (email, fax, mail or on CD or disc).
Marketing and Advertising – The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce continually works on new and inventive ideas for marketing and advertising. The Chamber is currently working on the “Open for Business” campaign which includes interstate billboards and bumper stickers. The billboard will expose your business to 40,000 potential new customers per day, 1,200,000 per month, and 14,400,000 per year. The Chamber also has a bi-monthly newspaper as well as a website with links and information about and for our members.
Referral System – One of The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce’s main objectives is to refer local and out of town individuals and businesses to its members.
Loan Program – Members of The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce are eligible for U.S.D.A. low interest (3-5%) loans.
Gift Certificate Program – Gift certificates can be purchased from The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce and can be used at any of the member’s businesses. The gift certificate is in the form of a check and made payable to “Chamber Merchant.” Since its existence the Gift Certificate Program has generated over $100,000.00 for chamber members.
Bi-Monthly Chamber Newspaper – The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce has started a bi-monthly newspaper which is designed to keep the community apprised on Chamber events. New members and grand openings will be featured in the paper as well as write ups and advertisements for Chamber members.
Economic Development – The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with the Assumption Chamber of Commerce, the Iberville Chamber of Commerce, and the Louisiana Airport Authority in order to keep our members and community informed and up-to-date with information regarding the airport’s arrival in Donaldsonville.
Website – The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce’s website is designed to promote members as well as provide members with information to help their businesses grow and prosper.
Member Discounts – The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce’s members receive discounts on tickets for “Chamber Night” at the Sunshine Festival.
